A short prayer for my husband
Lord, thank You for my husband. Keep him close to You today. Give him wisdom in his work, strength for what he carries and peace in his heart. Guard him from temptation and from harm. Help me to be kind to him, to forgive quickly and to build him up with my words. Let our home be a place where he rests. In Jesus' name, amen.
Verses to pray over him
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
How to keep praying for him
- Pick one thing a day: his work, his health, his faith, your marriage.
- Pray one verse back to God in your own words.
- Do one small kind thing for him the same day, so the prayer turns into something he can feel.
What to pray for your husband every day
One focus a day, one verse and one line to pray. Start on any day of the week.
Day 1: His walk with God
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Lord, help my husband trust You with all his heart today, and direct every step he takes.
Day 2: Wisdom for his choices
For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
Lord, give my husband wisdom for every choice in front of him, and make him quick to ask You for it.
Day 3: His work
And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.
Lord, bless the work of my husband's hands today, and let him do it as unto You.
Day 4: His strength
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Lord, when he is tired, renew his strength and carry what is too heavy for him.
Day 5: His protection
The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
Lord, keep my husband from all evil today, in his body, his mind and his soul.
Day 6: His peace
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Lord, quiet his worries and give him Your peace, not the kind the world gives.
Day 7: Your marriage
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Lord, make us kind and tenderhearted toward each other, and teach us both to forgive quickly.

How should a wife pray for her husband?
Simply and often. Thank God for him, then pray for one part of his life at a time: his walk with God, his work, his health and your marriage. Praying a verse back to God, like James 1:5 for wisdom, gives you words when you have none.
